Can I send my own fabric?
You are more than welcome to send your own fabric. Figure 1/4 yard for every 2 individual t-shirt that you send. For example, if you are sending 25 t-shirt graphics we will need 3 yards of fabric. It is best to let us supply the backing fabric because it's difficult to figure the exact size until it is pieced. If you would like to supply the backing fabric we will piece the quilt top first and then let you know how much backing fabric is required at a latter date after the top has been pieced.

How big can the graphic be?
We do not accept graphics that are larger than 14". If the graphic on a t-shirt is larger than 14" we will cut it down.

What do I do with those small graphics on the chest or sleeve?
Sometimes we are able to incorporate multiple small graphics to make one block. If you have 3 or 4 shirts that only have very small logos we can combine graphics into one block. There will be a $5.00 fee added for this service.

How many t-shirts make a good size quilt?
Quilts look good when there is a balanced number of rows. For example, if you sent 20 t-shirts the quilt would be in rows of 5 blocks x 4 blocks and this would look good. If someone sent us 23 t-shirts, this would be a difficult number to work with. To make the quilt look good with 23 t-shirts we would need to add 2 more to make it a 5 x 5 block quilt. 24 blocks would put the quilt at 4 x 6 and it would look to narrow and long. It's best to lay the t-shirts out before they are sent to make sure you don't have a long and narrow quilt with your numbers or a quilt that needs more blocks added to keep even rows. If you really can't understand this, you can just send us the blocks and we will add fabrics to make it work however there will be an upcharge for this.

How will the quilt be put together?
We use a computerized longarm machine system on all t-shirt quilts. Please check out the Quilt Style page to see the standard quilting pattern that we use. Your quilt will be densly quilted for strength. We use Hobbs 80/20 (cotton/poly) batting and is machine washable in cold water.

How do you know what side of the shirt to use?
Normally we use the side that has the largest graphic. If you want us to use both sides of the shirt please mark the shirt with either a note pinned to it or write on masking tape and stick it on. You also need to do this if you think we will be unsure of what side to use.

Can I plan my own layout?
Normally we just arrange the shirts by alternating lights and darks. You may however make a grid and write on it the order in which you want the shirts.

Things to be aware of ....
Please be aware that we really need flat t-shirts to work with. We cannot accept shirts that have heavy tackle twill letters appliqued onto them or shirts with heavy patches. If you are unsure if we will accept it, go ahead and send it and we will get back to you if there is a problem.

When do I pay the balance?
When the quilt is in it's final stages we will send you an invoice by e-mail. You will have the option of paying the balance through our Quicken merchant account on-line, send payment using paypal, or mail us a check. Once payment is made the quilt will be shipped.

How is the finished quilt sent back?
We use United States Postal service and all quilts are sent using their Priority Mail service. If you need to use UPS, you will need to issue a pick-up when the quilt is finished.
